Gris-Gris is located in the village of Souillac – a historic village that dates back to the French colonial period. Gris-Gris is well known for its sea cliffs and offers visitors a majestic high view of the place. The absence of coral reefs on this part of the island, allow large waves to crash directly onto the cliffs. At the southern end of Gris-Gris, you will have a splendid view of the cliffs and see the crashing waves against the cliff sides. There is a small garden offering plenty of quiet spots to relax, while having a view of the sea, waves and rocky cliffs. From the garden, a path leads to a small beach where you can closely admire the sea view. Further down the road from the Gris Gris viewpoint is the “Roche qui Pleure”. This is also another fantastic viewpoint where, if you look at the rock from the right angle, it will appear as a face with constantly flowing tears as the waves continually break.
